Final day on the Italian road trip and we drove to Piacenza. A small city about 1 hour outside of Milan.
The city is a working city so the people aren’t particularly fluent in English nor is there any particular tourist attractions.
We enjoyed spending the afternoon perusing the shops like the locals and seeing the beautiful buildings that the city had to offer.
Both meals we had here were mediocre compared to the delicious dishes we have been treated to over the past two weeks.
The restaurant we chose for lunch was quiet and we could understand why. For dinner there was a queue out of the door of the restaurant so we were expecting great things but again the food and service wasn’t great. This isn’t the city to come to for good food or fine wine but it is a convenient stop for the airport before heading home.
It acted as a nice chilled day and it’s one saving grace what the lovely ice cream shop on the high street. The apple gelato was divine.
Overall in the past two weeks we have experienced and seen some great things and have memories that will last a lifetime. That’s what travelling is about right?!
